Delivering Scouting to Young People in the Blackburn Area

Scout Active Support allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

In Blackburn we currently have two Scout Active Support Units in operation. The Canalside SASU meets each week on Tuesday evening from 7pm to carry out maintenence and development of Canalside Activity Centre. The WACKYS SASU is our watersports Active Support team who run watersports activities from Fishnoor Reservoir.

Scout Active Support is for anyone over the age of 18 years. It is a way for adults to volunteer time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them.

There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.

Being a member of an Active Support Unit is both rewarding and fun. Click on the 'Join Active Support' section in the left column to enquire. We will be in touch by return.

Canalside Active Support 2020
20/01/2020 By Stuart Parker

We are starting to plan our year at Canalside. We can't put on activities for Groups without mowing the grass and general maintenance of the site.

We hold a regular Tuesday evening session (weather dependant) and welcome new members to join us. You can come as often as you have available.

This year we are hoping we will get volunteers who may come once or twice to mow Canalside. There are 26 slots we need to fill for the year. Mowing can be completed according to your availability and does not need to be Tuesday evening. Please e-mail parker_stuart@hotmail.com  for more details.

And don't forget to book in your Groups for 2020
