Blackburn District Scouts

Delivering Scouting to Young People in the Blackburn Area

Blackburn Scouts currently has over 750 young people Scouting each week across the town in our 12 Scout Groups (See the Group information page for locations)

We are always looking to grow our dedicated Leadership team to enable us to continue to give more young people across the town to access Scouting and develop their Skills for Life. Our strategy is to build on the success of recent years and grow the number of young people Scouting to 1000 by 2021. It's a major challenge which we know we can achieve with support from people like YOU.

Assistant District Commissioner for Beavers

To work in partnership with the District Commissioner to ensure that effective operation of the Beaver Scout  Section in their District in accordance with the rules as laid down in POR of The Scout Association.

Assistant District Commissioner for CubsTo work in partnership with the District Commissioner to ensure that effective operation of the Cub Section in their District in accordance with the rules as laid down in POR of The Scout Association.

Beaver/Cub/Scout Section Leader

Blackburn Scouts have various vacancies for SECTION LEADERS across the town to support existing Scout Groups, and new Scout Groups which are currently in the planning stage.

The role of the SECTION LEADER  is to manage and lead the operation of the Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of Assistant Section Leaders, Section Assistants, Young Leaders and members of Scout Active Support as appropriate.

The Scout Group Sections are:

Beaver Scouts - Boys and Girls aged 6 - 8 years of age.
Cub Scouts - Boys and Girls aged 8 - 101/2 years of age.
Scouts - Boys and Girls aged 10 1/2 - 14 years of age.
