Blackburn District Scouts, part of East Lancashire Scout County provides lots of Scouting opportunities for young people. We know the benefits of Scouting to both young people and adult volunteers and the challenge is how, we continue to grow and develop Scouting in the District. Together we plan to meet the challenges over the next 5 - 10 years. The purpose of the day is for all present to help shape the District’s development plan/vision.
This is a unique opportunity for every adult in Scouting to come together to share their ideas and thoughts. Also to work together to identify the challenges and to consider the options to meet the needs of future young people in Harrogate and Nidderdale District. It’s not just about the challenges of the future though, the day is also about how together we can find ways to solve the current challenges of supporting our existing adult volunteers, how we encourage more adults to volunteer and how we provide even more programme opportunities
